Ed hardy bagsPioneer Quadrille Club Tenders Pair Charivari The Pioneer Quadrille Club had its regular monthly meeting; at the home of Mrs. Verna Roddan. Phil Herb, a new member, was welcomed and it was pleasant to greet Ed Hardy again after a long absence from town. A donation of $10 was made to the Camp and Hospital Committee of the Red Cross to help furnish day rooms at Camp Kohler. The mem- bers surprised their hostess with a nice birthday cake and ice cream. Plans were made for the charivari at the Goltz ranch on August 7. honoring Arthur Goltz and his bride. In the course of the eve- ning 's dancing to Hardy 's music. Mrs. Fay and Mrs. Price taught the members how to dance "the Trilby." and Mrs. Hardy and Mr. Coleman nimbly demonstrated the Irish jig and reeL Eighteen members of Lincoln Cub Scout pack No. 110, spon- sored by the Lincoln Parent Teacher association, received their Bobcat pins during an in- vestiture ceremony at last week 's meeting at the school. Twenty-five parents, nearly all pack leaders and two guests at- tended The guests were Bill Tyra, neighborhood commission- er, and Morris LaMont, field rep-* resentative. Committee Chair- man Richard Wood presided and introduced the leaders and guests. Cubmaster Ed Hardy spoke. Den No 1 presented the flag ceremony and Den No 3 present- ed a sketch. Christmas songs by the Phil- larmonic chorus, directed by 3eorge D. Lewis, and by the band, directed by Robert C. Clark, will be broadcast from the music department. Also, a reading of the Christmas story from the Bible will be broadcast by one of the students. The senior high school program will take place at 2:15 o'clock Friday afternoon. A Christmas vacation for all public schools will begin at the end of the school day Friday Classes will resume Tuesday Jan. 3. Other programs are planned by the various schools as follows Lincoln, 3 o'clock Monday; Cen tral, 2 o'clock Tuesday; Bryant, I o'clock Wednesday; Broadwater 3 o'clock Thursday; Emerson, 1 o'clock Thursday night; Haw thorne, 10 o'clock Friday, am junior high school, 1:15 o'clock Friday. The Jefferson and Old Jeffer son schools presented their pro gram Thursday afternoon. All of the school programs ar in the Christmas tradition, wit] carols, portrayals of the Christ mas story and related events, and readings.
